What is Rotary about, and why should anyone care?

We join Rotary to make a difference in our world and in our community.  We meet weekly for lunch or happy hour – at least, we used to before COVID, nowadays we do a lot of stuff over the dreaded Zoom – and we usually do at least one project a month.  Some people may perhaps have the idea that Rotary clubs are a trifle stuffy, filled with older folks who basically own the town, and spend their time congratulating themselves on how wonderful they are.  Well, that’s not us.  Sadly we don’t own Huntington Beach, a lot of us (again, sadly, not including the author of this site) are not older, and we certainly don’t waste our time making ourselves feel good, except of course for the various parties we have.  

Rotary has a basic policy called the 4-way Test.  We have a 5-way test – we add the line “Is it fun for all concerned?”  We want to do good in the world, and we want to have fun doing it.  If this appeals to you, contact us and let’s see how you can help.

Note that we now meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month at the Pacific Ranch Complex, and for Happy hour on the second and fourth Thursdays in downtown Huntington Beach.
