Rotary Clubs to join in
this Rotary Experience to
"LIGHT UP ROTARY"
The "Light up Rotary" programme was launched in 1994/5 by Rtn. Paul Firmin of the Rotary Club of Shawbury in District 1210 and Rtn. John Hughes of the Rotary Club of Royal Leamington Spa in District 1060 and is why we use the theme of "Build the Future with Action and Vision".
Paul and John still continue to promote the Rotary Tree of Light programme and we are delighted that the Rotary Telford Tree of Light won the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2017

Since this programme was launched the response from Rotary Clubs around the world has been so great that communities have raised Millions. The sums raised are increasing year on year and already far outreached our target, to raise £5,000,000 by the centenary of the Rotary movement in 2005. The trees in the UK alone were estimated to have raised over £10,000,000 by 2005 and the current estimate in 2017 is over £100,000,000
For over 20 years Paul and John have been involved in helping Rotary Clubs and other organisations throughout the country set up their own "Trees of Light". All achieved by a simple idea brought to Paul's attention by a visit to South Africa and the foresight of Paul and John to launch and promote it in the UK through Rotary
Besides the help on these pages you can find information and thousands of ideas from Rotary Clubs who have already joined the "Light up Rotary" programme, just Google Tree of Light. If you have any questions please contact us by Email
